We arrived at the Lamy train station about 11:45. Our train is running on time so far so it should be here at 2:00.
The good news is Lamy has a wireless internet connection (probably shared by the whole town). However, we got some bad news last night.
Due to the flooding in Iowa and Illinios, the train we are getting on here is being stopped in Kansas City. The plan now is to ride a bus (woo hoo) from KC to Galesburg, Il then a short train from there to Chicago. However, yesterdays passengers that were making connections East (like us), were bussed all the way to Toledo to catch the connecting train. That would be one long bus trip that I am not looking forward to.
So that means we may not see Chicago until our return trip. We shall see. I am just hoping we make it in a timely manner and with all of our luggage.
More to come whenever I can.
I’m glad to hear from you all and to know you got to Lany. Just enjoy what you can. I hope you don’t lose any time in Boston because of the flooding and level giving way!!! The boys are looking good and I’m sure they will enjoy the trip anyway—-Take care and we will be thinking of you—
Hey Guys! Great picture! A bus ride doesn’t seem so bad. Be careful and have a great time!
Have a fun trip you all. I will be enjoying it with you all the way. Sorry about the possibility of a bus connection…oh well….just consider it part of the ‘adventure’! Who are those two handsome guys on the platform at Lamy? Maybe you should ask them to go along with you.
I would be interested in knowing the makeup of the train consist when it arrived in Lamy and how many passengers were aboard.
Love to all.
I have been wondering where you all were. There have been more levees (that is a strange word) breaking and more flooding. I have watched for you on CNN.
What day is the Red Sox game?
I hope things are not as bad as I’m thinking they might be. I guess you all are seeing a lot of country and part of it may be under water.
Love to all of you and be safe—
