For the first time on any of our Amtrak trips, they did not have French Toast! So we had to settle for pancakes. They were okay, but we like the French Toast better.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the train is running about 1.5 hours behind schedule. We have a 3 hour layover in Chicago so we should be good for making our connection.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen was not quite ready to get up this morning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Stephen\" src=\"https:\/\/www.craigmashburn.com\/travelblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stephen1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"504\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Stephen and I hung in the louge car for a bit before lunch.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Stephen2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.craigmashburn.com\/travelblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stephen22.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"506\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We had our last meal on this train until our return trip.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Dining Car\" src=\"https:\/\/www.craigmashburn.com\/travelblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dining_Car.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"506\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We got to step off the train one last time at Fort Madison.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Fort Madison\" src=\"https:\/\/www.craigmashburn.com\/travelblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Fort_Madison.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"506\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We then just chilled until our train arrived into Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>We arrived into Chicago only about 30 minutes late. That is pretty good since at times we were running as much as two hours behind.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Union Station\" src=\"https:\/\/www.craigmashburn.com\/travelblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Union_Station1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"506\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hanging in the lounge at Chicago Union Station&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Lounge\" src=\"https:\/\/www.craigmashburn.com\/travelblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lounge2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"506\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Outside Union Station&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Union Station2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.craigmashburn.com\/travelblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Union_Station21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"506\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Around 5:45 we were told our train would be leaving later than scheduled. We boarded the Capitol Limited around 7:00pm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"CL Map\" src=\"https:\/\/www.craigmashburn.com\/travelblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/CL_Map.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"270\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We went to dinner around 8:00 where we all had steak. While eating, we lost an hour because we left Illinois and entered Indiana.<\/p>\n<p>Soon after dinner, we all settled in for a good nights sleep.
