It was our first trip and it was also to Washington DC. In the very last post I said\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Now that I have seen pretty much everything I want in DC, I really don\u2019t know if I will ever go back.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Well, as it turns out, our kids do not remember much from that trip. We had hoped they were old enough but I guess they were not. So now we head back to make some new memories.<\/p>\n<p>Here is our itinerary\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h6>Friday, June 27th \u2013 Drive to <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?q=lamy,+nm&amp;hl=en&amp;sll=35.201967,-101.80494&amp;sspn=0.484769,1.056747&amp;hnear=Lamy,+Santa+Fe+County,+New+Mexico&amp;t=m&amp;z=14\" target=\"_blank\">Lamy<\/a> and board Amtrak\u2019s Southwest Chief<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>Saturday, June 28th \u2013 Arrive into Chicago and change trains to Amtrak\u2019s Capitol Limited<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>Sunday, June 29th \u2013 Arrive in Washington D.C.<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>Monday, June 30th through Thursday, July 3rd \u2013 Explore D.C.<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>Friday, July 4th \u2013 Board Amtrak\u2019s Cardinal<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>Saturday, July 5th \u2013 Arrive into Chicago and change trains to Amtrak\u2019s Southwest Chief<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>Sunday, July 6th \u2013 Arrive back to <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?q=lamy,+nm&amp;hl=en&amp;sll=35.201967,-101.80494&amp;sspn=0.484769,1.056747&amp;hnear=Lamy,+Santa+Fe+County,+New+Mexico&amp;t=m&amp;z=14ounty,+New+Mexico&amp;t=m&amp;z=14\" target=\"_blank\">Lamy<\/a> and drive back to Amarillo<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This time, we have one less day in Washington so this will be no take-it-easy vacation. If we are going to see everything that everyone wants to see, there will be no time for going slow. We can rest on the train!<\/p>\n<p>I try to make at least daily posts which consist mostly of pictures.
